This is probably a connection between forms such as "Ma" and "PA" (or sometimes "there") for "mother" and "father". The phonetic forms of words are very simple and easy to speak, and almost everywhere in all languages, and it is amazing how many languages have words which sound like. Of course, the meaning is still used to more or less feel the same as in the story as well!
However, I would vote for "my" or "Mama" as the longest word unchanged. And I'm sure you can see that this word was used even before the idea of poetry as they "play" with the language came to the actual needs of daily life.
