Everything tastes like blood! am I going crazy? - canned foods with metallic taste

In recent weeks I have these "episodes" that some seemingly normal food had taste metallic or blood. I ate a normal shop bought egg sandwich today and suddenly felt a very strong taste of blood, so I had to spit, and make sure that there is indeed full of blood. I took a sip and then tries the rest of the sandwich later, and still just tasted like blood. It has spread to other things that I want too much, which normally would have eaten happen.
Sometimes when I cough, I'm sure you can the blood on the back of the neck flavor.
What could be causing this? Is there something wrong with me? I'm beginning to wonder if somehow psychologically, because although you can setately the taste of blood, not there!
